What Else To Think About For Health and safety Aside from Baby Cots
What to look out for when your baby is asleep
It is very important to know the temperature of the baby room. About 18 ? C is actually a good temperature for your baby to have a pleasant relaxing sleep. After a nap, it is a good idea to ventilate the room to help keep the air fresh. A cheerful, airy room contributes to a peaceful atmosphere. A tranquil and relaxing atmosphere for your baby can assist in good sleeping patterns and can even help them remain in their own bed through the night.
A baby crib or a cot
The parents have to decide if they want a baby cot or a baby crib. The fist few months the baby can sleep beside the bed of the parents. Because a cot is much bigger, you can use it longer before you have to buy a bed. A baby cot will usually allow a child to use it up until about three and a half years of age.
With a cot you get more for your money and your chil will not have to leave its familiar sleeping place. When your child gets bigger, all you have to do is remove the dropside from the cot and you have your bed. If you are not sure yet you can replace the dropsied by a safety railing so your child will not fall out.
Sheets or a sleeping bag
The next choice is whether to use sheets or a sleeping bag.Babies are not able to regulate their body temperature and can become overheated, so a quilt can be unsafe. It can also be dangerous as they can become tangled and suffocate underneath the quilt. A sleeping bag is a lot better choice because it is safer and there are a lot of variations you can buy. The big advantage of a sleeping bag is that your child can not get tangled up in it and they come in different thicknesses so your baby will stay warm.
A few more sleeping tips
It is easy to catch your babies attention with a bright smile and this will make your child happy and awake. Try to avoid eye contact when putting your child to sleep so that they remain quiet and tranquil. A familiar hug, with the familiar smell of the parent, can be a relaxing and comforting action to help a baby sleep. Every baby is different and one will fall asleep right away and others will struggle quit a lot.
If your baby cries do not get up immediately. Sometimes babies cry in their sleep and some babies will stop crying if no one attends to them immediately. If the baby continues to cry do not wait until it becomes upset as it will take longer to help them calm down so they can return to sleep.
